My personal connection with Jim Rohn began at 22 years old when I started working for Herbalife. He was the right hand and mentor of the owner Mark Hughes at that time, and Jim’s presence was both inspiring and transformative. Coming from social housing with no formal education and having lost both my parents at a young age, I was adrift, a young man with limited prospects and even fewer mentors. Jim’s practical wisdom spoke directly to my circumstances. He didn’t offer empty promises or motivational fluff, he provided a framework for thinking differently about life and one’s place in it.

What made Jim’s guidance particularly accessible was his intelligent, dry sense of humor. He had this remarkable ability to deliver profound, life-changing messages without dramatic flair or intensity.

Jim had a way of distilling profound wisdom into simple, memorable phrases. One that particularly struck me was: “You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.”

That teaching had inspired me as a young man, launching me on my global journey, working and living in Asia, Africa, North America and many European countries. Building businesses and friendships that would eventually bring me to settle on the beautiful island of Ibiza.
